Teds, Rebels, Hepcats & Psychos: A History Of British Rockabilly 1970-2000

This is a fascinating and worthwhile project, the brainchild of Paul Wragg, former manager of successful Portsmouth rockabilly band The Ricardos.

Paul explains, "This book is the first publishing project for Raucous Records. The intention is to interview as many people as we can across the scene from Teddy Boys, to Rockin' Cats, to Psychobillies. The people from the key bands, the record labels, promoters, DJ's and the people that were part of the scene from 1970 up to 2000.

"I've been asked a few times about timescales for the book, I intend to get the interviews over by Easter and then concentrate on getting it written, hopefully before the end of 2019, I would like to see the book in Christmas stockings for all those boy and girls that have been good all year."

Several people from around the Portsmouth rock n roll scene have already contributed - Paul Owen Dawkins, Robbie Knight, Simon Moon, Paul Haines and Andy Stechman…

If you have memories of the 1972 Wembley Rock n Roll Show, took part in the 1976 march on the BBC, were at the Caister, Weymouth, Brean and original Hemsby festivals, played in a band, spun records, or were just there... get in touch with Paul via his Facebook page.
